Prerequisites & Compatibility

  • System Requirement: AnythingLLM Desktop application (v1.8.3+).
  • Security/Storage: Session data and credentials are stored locally.
  • Scope: Text content only (no media/images/videos). No browser automation or RPA capabilities.

Execution Procedures

1. Establish Authenticated Session

  1. Open AnythingLLM Desktop.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Tools > Browser Tool.
  3. Click Open Private Browser.
  4. Navigate to the target URL and complete the login/authentication process.
  5. Close the private browser. The LLM can now scrape the authenticated content during agentic workflows.

2. Session Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Session Refresh: For services with short session lifetimes, repeat the Establish Authenticated Session steps to re-authenticate.
  • Clear Browser Data / Account Switch:
    1. Navigate to Settings > Tools > Browser Tool.
    2. Click Clear Browser Data to wipe all stored credentials, cookies, and sessions.
  • Connection/Auth Failures:
    1. Click Clear Browser Data.
    2. Open Private Browser and log back into the target service.
